How much gold can I get for my budget?
Fix an amount you want to spend and see how many grams of gold you would actually take home from each jeweller — after making charges and 3% GST. Then paste your own jeweller's quote to check whether they beat the board or overcharge on the making. Updated 2026-08-06.
How the grams are worked out
For each jeweller we compute what one gram would actually cost you: today's per-gram rate, plus our verified median making charge for the category, plus 3% GST on the whole thing. Divide your budget by that number and you get the grams. That's the same maths a jeweller's bill uses, just run in reverse.
Your quote is scored the same way — whatever rate and making percentage you paste, we add 3% GST and compare the grams-per-rupee side by side. If a brand delivers more gold for the same money, they win by that gap; if your jeweller wins, hold on to that quote.
Making charges we show are medians — individual pieces vary, especially ornate or stone-set designs. Hallmarking, stone value and any store-specific discount are not included. Always confirm the final bill in store. For a bill you already have, use our making charges calculator.
